Creating the Wave sculpture was inspired by a question from Conor Bresnahan a Cambridge, Massachusetts high school student about Black History month. He asked “Why are there so many negative images and references in current media when there is such a rich history that most people are not aware of”. His grandfather said don’t just complain about it do something about it thus was born the idea for the Creating the Wave sculpture to celebrate the scientists, educators, civil rights leaders and sports heroes who overcame many challenges to make contributions that all American now enjoy today. As philosopher Kierkegaard said “they are the ones who can hold on against all hope and will prevail in the end”Waves in the ocean are never still as waves are created by wind energy through the waters. Waves transmit energy not water across the oceans. They are continuous waves that started from the slightest breeze and impacts our shores from distance lands many miles away from America shores. This sculpture can be purchase in crystal or acrylic to celebrating births, graduations from school or weddings. Our hope is that parents and grandparents use it as a tool to celebrate the many accomplishments of past and present for their children. A portion of any sales will go to those low income students interested in the financial service career.
